Grand Knight Message June 2011

Grand Knight Message June 2011

Dear Brother Knights,

My second term as Grand Knight and the end of another Council and Columbian Year is upon us. We have continued to make great strides achieving our goals these past two years. Paying off our bond indebitness , continue to increase our monetary assets in the Council and Columbian Club, and renovations of our building's exterior and interior of Coogan Hall.

The statue of St. Joseph is encased and positioned in front of our building, and new lettering is placed over our front door thanks to Kurt Strobach. A new council sign has been erected on the north side of the building.
This year when I attended the Knights Annual Convention at Wildwood, NJ there were many proposed resolutions pertaining to the ongoing struggle to keep One Nation under God in our pledge of allegiance, opposing same sex marriage, and champion the right to life. Our council was awarded the best website in the Newark archdiocese. This was one of my personal goals achieved with the cooperation of Jude de los Reyes.

Another goal was to bring our scholarship program to fruition. This was accomplished with the assistance of our past grand knights. The young recipients of this scholarship will be presented at our annual awards night. Selected representatives from our New Milford and Oradell communities will receive achievement awards for their service.

The Nite of the Races chaired by Bob Osterlof was a financial success and a fun filled evening.

Thank you to my officers and especially Jimmy White Passed Grand Knight who stepped forward to be my Deputy. I and the Columbian Club owes a debt of gratitude to Bob Osterlof and Bob Wieme for handling the hall rentals.
Congratulations to our new slate of officers. I wish them every success in the upcoming Columbian Year.

Continue to pray for those persecuted for the love of Jesus Christ and for all our men and women serving in the armed forces, especially those who made the supreme sacrifice.

Brothers Serving Brothers

Vivat Jesus,
Paul Noonan GK
